men, raining

I now own zebra-striped, platform boots.

I co-hosted a disco-themed fundraiser for Planned Parenthood on Saturday night. I didn't not choose the theme, but, being a good sport (or something), i wore aggressively ugly 70's clothes: gray, knit polyester pants, a powder-blue, ruffled tuxedo shirt, and the aforementioned boots. I looked special. I rented the boots with the option to buy. Since the event was successful, it appears we're going to have this theme every year, so i just bought the damn things.

I have no pictures for you.

In other news, i'm finally reading Douglas R. Hofstadter's Gödel, Escher, Bach, which i had been meaning to do for awhile. It's excellent so far (100 pages). It's not for everyone, but if the description in the above link appeals to you in the slightest, you should give it a shot.
