all hands on the bad one

So i'm still not in my townhouse. The underwriters for my first mortgage apparently suck not a small amount of ass. There's a chance they might not even get done in time for me to close next week. If not, i'm going to have to either (hopefully) rent the townhouse from the seller for a few days or try to rip the fabric of space and time. I could rant on and on about this, but i don't get amusedly cranky like the lovely maddening. I get stabby. Or whiny.

At least my life isn't a total loss. Over on the Goats forums i've got this guy wasting several hours of his life trying to demonstrate that he's even half the pedant i am. He's not. It even warranted a mention of the Goats main page. Excellent.

In my only other bit of good news, i had a productive morning shopping for used CDs. In addition to picking up some Sonia Dada and Quasi for 4 bucks each, i somehow got the new Sleater-Kinney CD off the used rack for $8 even though it's only been a week-and-a-half since it was released. I have no idea why it was there, it sounds unmistakably like a S-K album, except maybe even better.

I reckon i shouldn't complain.
